New political party set up in Armenia
Founding convention of a new political Party “Consolidation” is underway in Yerevan. 252 delegates attended the convention from Armenia’s marzes. At the meeting a decision to set up “Consolidation” party with its program was adopted.
According to Elinar Vardanyan, the moderator of the party convention, “Consolidation” aims to build sovereign, democratic, social, just state, governed by rule of law.
As to the foreign relations, the party advocates an approach of eliminating a third force factor in its relations.
“That is to say, we are not to count on other states, rather have allies on the external front and establish commendable relationship with them,” Vardanyan stated.
Former foreign minister of Armenia, parliamentarian Vartan Oskanian was elected the chairman of the newly-established party. Delegates next elected the members of the Party Council.
