National Reproductive Health Strategy 2016-2020 and Action Plan endorsed
Armenian government endorsed the National Reproductive Health Strategy 2016-2020 and Action Plan which envisage range actions to be carried out throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia aimed at improving medical aid and service accessibility in the sphere of reproductive health, ensure the efficient organization of medical services and assistance, promote higher fertility rate conditioned with health factors.
Armen Muradyan, RA minister of Healthcare spoke with reporters after the cabinet session. The minister said, that the 2006-2015 strategy decreased mother mortality rate by 23 percent, abortions by 17 percent and the newborn mortality rate by seven percent.
Muradyan stressed that the healthcare system requires constant improvements. “We should speak of comparisons - what we had and where we got. The healthcare system requires continuous reforms in line with the time,” concluded the minister.
