Paul Stronski: Neither NATO nor any other international organization may solve the Karabakh conflict
Joint Air Defense system between Armenia, Russia does not threaten the security of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Paul Stronski, senior associate in Carnegie's Russia and Eurasia Program told during a discussion held at “Region” center on June 25.
“NATO does not view Armenia as a threat, thus I do not consider Joint Air Defense system as a challenge to NATO’s security,” Stronski noted.
According to the expert, Armenia is quite disappointed over the adopted policy of Russian Karabakh, namely over Russian “double game”.
Stronski next mentioned the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process suffered from the strained relations between the West and Russia in terms of the perspectives of an efficient cooperation between those toward the resolution of the conflict.
To him, neither NATO nor any other international organization may solve the Karabakh conflicts “unless parties involved wish to see any solution”.
