Soldier, recovering in Germany now talks, misses Armenia
Ruben Araqelyan, an Armenian servicemen who was injured during the April military operation in Nagorno Karabakh, now passes rehabilitation treatment in Germany, is in good condition, began talking, while at the same time he misses Armenia, Narine, Ruben’s aunt, told Panorama.am, saying she is in daily contact with him.
Ruben left for German Bonn with his mother Anahit. They had concluded a three-month treatment agreement with Bonn University Clinic. To the aunt’s words, no noticeable progress has been observed as of the 11th day of the treatment.
“No serious progress has been observed so far. He has no sensation below shoulder level, unable to move limbs, yet he managed to call me by himself. Yesterday he was taken outdoors on wheelchair. His mood is volatile, he seems to feel uncomfortable on a foreign land, he misses Armenia,” the soldier’s aunt told.
Meanwhile, the tube inserted in Ruben’s throat doesn’t hinder Ruben’s speech. He has begun talking.
“It will be removed soon,” Narine told, referring to the tube.
Narine also praised the medical personnel of the Armenian hospitals, who as she put were considerate, and caring, persuading the patient to eat, while that is not the case in foreign hospitals.
