Armenian history through “Eternity” plastic performance
Plastic performance “Eternity” organized by AGBU Marseille and Nor Nork Youth Centre of Holy See Mother Echmiadzin will premiere in Yerevan at National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiarian today, June28.
“Through the performance, we’re going to present the Armenian history, the birth of the humankind, Noah’s Ark landing on Mount Ararat, the adoption of Christianity, persecutions, destructions, the strength and the will of Armenians, who were able to overcome all this and walk towards eternity,” artistic director of the youth centre, Arman Julhakyan said.
According to him, the performance was jointly created by more than 70 students of the youth centre. The performance features classical and modern, Armenian and European fragments.
“It’s an interesting synthesis, we hope it will be a continuous project,” Mr. Julhakyan said.
Creator of the project, Patrick Malakian was also present during the press conference informed that “Eternity” premiered in Marseille. The project was created within the framework of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. “800 people attended the performance in Marseille. At the end everybody were crying”.
Mr. Malakian said that they are working on a new performance, which will premiere in New York in October. The performance is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of AGBU. Besides the Youth Centre, students of Tumo Center for Creative Technologies will be involved too.
