Sergei Lavrov to arrive in Armenia on July 4
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Yerevan on July 4, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharov said on Tuesday, TASS reports.
“Concerning hostilities unleashed on Nagorno Karabakh in April, in Paris OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will discuss further steps related to agreements reached in Vienna on May 16 and trilateral meeting held in St. Petersburg on June 20,” Zakharova said during a press conference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtlSRq6dgYM.
Maria Zakharova also noted that Karabakh issue will remain on the agenda.
“The ministers will discuss current problems of international and regional security, cooperation on the international arena,” she said.
The CSTO top diplomats will also exchange views on “combating terrorism and extremism in the light of the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan,” she said.
Moscow “hopes the Yerevan meeting will make a major contribution to the implementation of agreements reached at the top level,” Zakharova said.
