Ankara could let Russia use its Incirlik airbase to fight ISIS
Turkey could let Russia use its Incirlik air base to fight the Islamic state terrorist group (banned in Russia) in Syria, as follows from the words of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, TASS http://tass.ru/en/world/886250 reports.
"We’ll cooperate with all who is fighting against the Islamic State. We have opened the Incirlik base for all who want to join the active fight. Why not cooperate with Russia in this way?" he said.
According to the BBC , member of Duma Committee on Defense, Andrei Krasov has already responded Turkey’s offer, saying that this would be a friendly step, and that the use of the air base could help to fight terrorism.
The Russian official also noted that the decision remains with the Russian military leadership.
