Lars road opening works to last 5 days
Extensive work is carried out to open Lars checkpoint (in 4-5 days) for all means of transportation, Georgian officials informed Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia, Gagik Beglyaryan during a meeting.
According to the public relations department of MTC, Mr. Beglaryan met with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili and Deputy of Roads Department of Georgia, Giorgi Seturidze partook at the meeting.
Issues related to the use of Georgian transit corridor were discussed during the meeting. The parties noted that it should be developed in accordance with international standards, which is a priority for both Armenia and Georgia.
They also discussed the importance of European transit corridor (E-60), Mtskheta–Stepantsminda–Lars and Tbilisi–Bakurtsikhe–Lagodekhi roads.
According to an official statement, both the Armenian and Georgian parties noted that Rustavi–Sadakhlo and Tbilisi–Geguti directions could be an effective option for transport of goods from Armenia, as well as Khashuri–Akhltskha–Ninotsminda direction could be effective for transport of goods to the Republic of Armenia.
