5000-year-old settlement discovered in Chobaret village, Samtskhe-Javakhk
Cultural settlement of river Araks has been discovered in Chobaret village, Samtskhe-Javakhk, akhaltskha.net reports
According to the source, the artefacts date back to mid-4th century BC. The settlement has a history of more than 5000 years.
According to Aspindza Municipality, this site has been a subject for archaeological excavations. The research is conducted with the efforts of Georgian National Museum and the city of Melbourne, Australia.
Stone buildings, living and utility quarters, barns, fireplaces and various tableware tools have been discovered during the excavations.
