Savchenko: In order to protect its rights, Ukraine should join NATO
Member of Parliament of Ukraine, Nadiya Savchenko said that Ukraine should become a NATO member.
“Russian President, Vladimir Putin says there are two countries – Russia and the U.S., and others are just areas of their interests. Regardless of the fact that we are geographically smaller countries, we have the right of determination on our own nation and mentality. Therefore, we’ll defend our rights… I think that NATO is the very platform where we can achieve it,” she said during the Lithuanian Youth Forum, Rosbalt writes.
During her visit to Lithuania, Savchenko also met the country’s Foreign Minister, Linas Linkevičius and President Dalia Grybauskaitė.
Earlier, during NATO Summit in Warsaw, Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski stated that there is a necessity of Ukraine’s membership to the alliance.
