Serzh Sargsyan: Being a member state to CSTO, Armenia closely cooperates with NATO
“Being a member to CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) we cooperate with NATO quite closely. This comes to prove that CSTO and NATO are not created to inescapably have conflicts with one another,” Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan told during an interview with Al Mayadeen Arabic television channel.
To the President’s words, Armenia does not pursue its interests in the context of contradictions among others.
“I have always wanted to see the US and Russian interests coinciding, to escape a conflict between the two states. Only then we have the best time for us,” president noted.
Sargsyan has states that Armenia, as a founding member of CSTO, knows well, that the latter has sought cooperation with NATO.
To remind the interview was recorded in late June in Yerevan and hosted by Ghassan bin Jiddo, the head of the board of directors of Al Mayadeen TV channel. The interview was published on YouTube page of the channel on July 11.
