The threat of war exists unless Russia continues selling weapons to Azerbaijan, Ara Papyan says
The meeting scheduled in Paris between presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan may bring no significant results, Ara Papyan, head of Modus Vivendi research center told reporters at a meeting.
“If the so-called monitoring is conducted along the border, as Aliyev perceived that, namely increasing the number of monitors from 6 to 15, it may generate no result, considering also whether the co-chairmen draw conclusions based on the reports by the monitors,” Papyan asked.
To the political scientist, at the upcoming Paris meeting usual calls for the peace will be voiced, while pressure on Armenia is not ruled out.
As to the threat of resumption of the war, Papyan noted, that exists unless Russia continues selling arms to Azerbaijan, and quite the opposite, the war is approaching “April events have showen Azerbaijan starts and ends war whenever it wishes. Consequently, it is assumed Azerbaijan may do that in the future as well,” concluded Papyan.
