Haik and Yuri Davtyan perform on one stage after 12 years
The State Youth Orchestra of Armenia gave a joint concert with Haik Davtian (violin, Armenia/France) and Gayane Aslanyan (piano, Armenia) on July 14 at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, press service of the State Youth Orchestra reports.
According to the source, the concert was headed by the People’s Artist of RA, conductor Yuri Davtyan.
The concert program contained Richard Strauss’ Violin Concerto (Armenian premier) performed by Haik Davtian (violin), Maurice Ravel’s Pavane for a Dead Princess and Piano Concerto presented by Gayane Aslanyan (piano).
Haik Davtian is the son of conductor Yuri Davtyan. Before the concert Maestro Davtyan said his confusion was doubled as they haven’t performed together for a long time, approximately for 12 years. “I’m sure I will feel calmer after the end of the first section of the concert as soon as Haik finishes his performance” – confessed Yuri Davtyan.
Violinist Haik Davtian said his responsibility was increased. “It is always harder to play in Armenia when you feel the presence of your teachers, friends and classmates who are sitting at the concert hall and it’s fundamental for me to present them the best I can”.
While talking about Richard Strauss’ Violin Concerto, the composition he performed during the concert, Haik Davtian emphasized the beauty of this musical piece and expressed his repentance towards the fact that the composition is not popular in the world that much.
