President Vladimir Putin instructed to organize the evacuation of Russian citizens from Turkish airports. Sending of Russians to this country by flights of Russian and Turkish airline suspended
As reported by «RIA Novosti» with reference to press secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov, the President instructed the Ministry of transport and other bodies of executive power to provide support to the citizens of Russia in Turkish airports and to organize their removal.
Putin also instructed to provide the passengers waiting for departure to Turkey in the Russian airports to clarify the situation.
According to the Consul General of Russia in Istanbul Andrei Podyacheva, the statement which refers to TASS at the airport of Istanbul there are about 100-150 Russians.
Earlier, the Turkish authorities imposed a ban on flights of civil aircraft over the Northwestern region of Marmara.
As previously reported by RBC Vice-President of the Association of tour operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze, Turkey may be about 4 thousand Russians, of which 1 thousand organized tourists, who came under permits of tour operators. Others travel independently.
