State of emergency imposed in Istanbul again
The Turkish authorities have introduced a state of emergency in the Turkish city of Istanbul again, the Anadolu news agency reported, TASS informs.
According to the source, they also deployed additional 1,800 of police special forces in the city.
The head of the police has been instructed to shoot down the helicopters that rise into the air without permission.
Reinforced police squads are patrolling the streets.
On July 17, armed clashes between the participants of the military coup attempt and the authorities took place near the Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen international airport, as well as at the air base in the city of Konya.
