Armenian NSS: Negotiations underway with members of the armed group
Armenian National Security Service reports that five people have been released thus far within the scope of antiterrorist operation launched on early morning of July 17 in connection with the seizure of RA patrol police regiment and keeping hostages in the result of an armed attack.
“At present active actions are being taken aimed at releasing the rest of the hostages as well as resolving the situation, including negotiations in process with members of the armed group,” reads the statement, released by NSS.
The NSS reminds that undertaken measures are unique and strictly professional requiring no extraneous interference or assistance for people in charge of its implementation.
Special units of RA Law Enforcement bodies remain in combat readiness, yet at this point no preconditions for active actions exist, reads the NSS statement.
