No incidents reported overnight at Khorenatsi Str.
It’s been the sixth day that members of “Daredevils of Sassoun” group have been holding several policemen hostages at Erebuni Police HQ. No incidents have been reported during the night of July 21-22 at Khorenatsi Str. No collisions were recorded.
To remind, a group of armed people broke into RA Patrol Police Regiment on July 17 and took hostages with threats of violence. The group demands to set free Jirair Sefilian, an opposition figure arrested and accused for illegal procurement of weapons with intention for organizing a criminal group to stage armed uprising in the state. Police Colonel, Artur Vanoyan was killed during the attack, four others were injured. At this point there are four hostages at the Police HQ.
To solve this issue peacefully, negotiations between law enforcement units and the members of the armed group are underway.
