National Security Service calls on the citizens to exercise vigilance at mass gatherings
The National Security Service of Armenia (NSS) reports that in the scope of examination of the investigatory and procedural actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated with regard to the armed seizure of the RA patrol police regiment, a group of citizens involved in criminal links with the armed group members was arrested, who have been involved in previous crimes and continue supporting planned criminal actions.
According to the release, the members of the armed group inside the police regiment directly instruct and guide people outside the police station to organize and conduct actions endangering the health and the life of the citizens, including actions aimed at spreading disorder and provoking clashes.
With this regard, the NSS informs that on July 21 the person V. G was arrested for illegal possessing of a weapon and grenade and trying to reach the blocked area of Khorenatsi Street, yet his criminal intentions were disrupted.
The report goes on saying on July 22 the person M. A was arrested for trying to bring bottle bombs [Molotov cocktails] to the blocked area of the street with an intention to use them.
NSS next warns that people intending to join criminal actions of the armed group members are identified and are under the close inspection of the competent state bodies. Lawful and available measures are taken to prevent their possible criminal actions.
With this regard, the National Security Service strictly calls on the citizens to exercise vigilance at mass gatherings, leave the scene in case of noticing an abnormal behavior or suspicious items with subsequent reporting the law enforcement bodies.
