President invited a meeting pertinent to reforms of the judicial and legal structure
President Serzh Sargsyan invited today a meeting pertinent to the reforms of the judicial and legal structure, press department of the President’s Office reports.
During the meeting the implementation of the 2012-2016 Strategic Programme for legal and judicial reforms in the Republic of Armenia, approved earlier by the Presidential decree, was discussed with responsible bodies.
According to the source, Strategic Programme aims at establishing legal structure and judicial power in line with the criteria of a modern democratic state.
The head of the state stressed the Strategic Programme is significant document for the development of the legal and judicial system in our state and its proper implementation is highly important to ensure the continuation of the reformation.
It was recorded at the meeting that both positive achievements as well as serious deficiencies and shortfalls have been observed over the course of the four years since the program implementation.
At the conclusion President Serzh Sargsyan instructed the heads of relevant agencies with tasks to take up measures for the more efficient implementation of the program actions, which remain unfulfilled.
