Hayk Gasparyan triumphed over Azerbaijani athlete, conquered gold medal
The World 5th Kung Fu championship is underway in Moscow. The representative of the Armenian team Hayk Gasparyan (55kg) became a champion in the age group of 17-19. In the finals Gasparyan gained advantage over an Azerbaijani rival Omar Alahverdiyev, Armenian Federation of Kung Fu reports.
To remind, in 2015 the Azerbaijani Kung Fu team was disqualified from the competitions for “unsportsmanlike behavior” following an incident in Lvov, when dozens of Azeris attacked with sticks 11 Armenian team members, most of whom were underage. After the apologies, the International Kung Fu Federation eventually allowed the representatives of Azerbaijan to participate in the World championship.
