Vitaly Balasanyan on conditions of releasing two senior police officers held hostage
Mediator of negotiations between members of “Daredevils of Sassoun” armed group and law enforcement units, Vitaly Balasanyan told Shant TV about the agreement reached and the implementation of relevant actions.
According to Balasanyan, two police officers held hostages at Erebuni Police HQ have been released.
Balasanyan said that according to the agreement they should provide the presence of media representatives in a neutral zone controlled by the police and the National Security Service to ensure round-the-clock media coverage.
He also noted that after the establishment of the media point, two other hostages, Yeghiazaryan and Osipyan will be released.
“It’s not an exchange, rather a step taken by all the parties with my mediation,” he said.
To remind, Deputy Chief of the Police of Yerevan, Valery Osipyan and Deputy Chief of the Police of Armenia, Vardan Yeghiazaryan among other police officers have been held hostage for a few days now by “Daredevils of Sassoun” armed group at Erebuni Police HQ.
