Armenia is an open door to the Christian world for Iran, expert says
Iranian expert, Vali Kuzegar Kaleji said that Armenia is an open door to the Christian world for Iran, IRNA news agency reports.
According to the source, the Iranian expert highlighted the importance of strengthening the Armenian-Iranian relationship during a round-table discussion on “Caucasus: Iran’s Strategic Interests” organized by IRNA news agency. “Armenia is an open door to the Christian world for Iran. In the meantime, Armenia enters Middle East and the Islamic world through Iran. All Armenian political parties are on the same page concerning strengthening relationship with Iran”.
Speaking about the Karabakh conflict, Kaleji noted that a special committee dealing with the conflict should be established, as any development in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict directly affects the political balance in the region.
In his turn, referring to the construction of an Iran-Armenia railway, Head of the Caucasus Studies Fund, Seyyed Mehdi Hosseini noted that besides the Iran-Armenia, the construction of Iran-Azerbaijan railway also holds strategic importance for Iran.
