It’s been over a week, that members of “Daredevils of Sassoun” group have taken over the Police HQ at Khorenatsi Str. Every evening, people have been gathering at the street in the group’s defense. However, no incidents were recorded overnight at the area near the Police HQ.

Yesterday, members of the group burnt one of the police cars as a sign of protest. However, Artsakh hero and member of the NKR Parliament, Vitaly Balasanyan stated that the relevant authorities had assured him they would continue negotiations until the group lay down their arms peacefully.

According to the statement issued by Vitaly Balasanyan, President Serzh Sargsyan had expressed willingness to invite Zhirair Sefilian for a discussion as soon as the armed group lay down their arms.

To remind, initially the group had taken several policemen hostage. The remaining four policemen were released on July 23. Members of “Daredevils of Sassoun” demand to set free Jirair Sefilian, an opposition figure arrested and accused for illegal procurement of weapons with intention for organizing a criminal group to stage armed uprising in the country.
