The National Museum of Aleppo under heavy shelling
The State Museum of Syria’s Aleppo has come under heavy shelling by terrorist groups over the past days. As the local Kandzasar newspaper reports, last morning the museum was hit by dozens of mortar shells, causing extensive damage to the roof and structure of the building
Days ago, the Syrian Directorate General for Antiquities and Museums (DGAM) released a statement, deploring the destruction of the museum by the terrorist groups.
The report reminds, that The National Museum of Aleppo was founded in 1931 and contains unique antiquities from the Ancient City of Aleppo and the world.
