
U.S. Department of State advises family members of U.S. Government personnel to leave Turkey
The U.S. Department of State ordered departure of family members of U.S. Government personnel in Turkey, Korrespondent quotes the statement of the U.S. State Department.
In the statement, the Department of State also advises to avoid travel to southeastern Turkey.
“In light of the July 15 coup attempt and the resulting potential for interruptions to travel and daily life, we suggest U.S. citizens reconsider travel to Turkey at this time,” the statement reads.
The Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens of increased threats from terrorist groups throughout Turkey.
