Egor Glumov: A different society after the April War
Whatever is happening now is only an outcome, Director of Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum, Narine Tukhikyan said during “Public figures on the armed attack and current negotiations” discussion organized by Media Centre.
“Unfortunately, barbaric and sadistic moods have been planted in the heart of our beloved state. There’s widespread hatred, a mutual hatred between the society and the ruling elite. Until now, everything has been done to degrade, defile and desecrate the society. Even bribery in elections is a tool for defiling a person,” she noted.
According to Tukhikyan, clear and politically well-considered measures have been undertaken, which gave their negative results. “At some level we’re led by mentally unbalanced people, which is rather dangerous”.
Radio Van news presenter, Egor Glumov who also took part at the discussion and has been actively participating in protests at Khorenatsi Str. in support of “Daredevils of Sassoun” group, said that the situation at Khorenatsi Str. is quite unclear.
“The crowd doesn’t understand what to do, why it’s there and where it should go. There was a young man, who couldn’t understand what was going on. We’ve also seen a drunk man, who was shouting to return his car. This is our society. This is a quite different society from what we had before the April War. It got up and took the situation into its own hands. That’s the real society,” he said.
Concerning the members of “Daredevils of Sassoun” group and the Police, Glumov noted that each side does what it has to; “the guys are fighting, and the police is trying to neutralize their fight, which has its results”.
According to Narine Tukhikyan, a little wisdom wouldn’t hurt any of the sides.
“In a 21th century society, the authorities and the society live in parallel universes, which are never related to one another,” she said.
