Leading French media refuse to publish names and photos of terrorists
Several French news organisations have said they will no longer publish photographs of people responsible for terrorist killings, to avoid bestowing “posthumous glorification”, The Guardian writes.
“Le Monde”, “La Croix” newspapers, “BFM-TV”, “Europe 1” radio station, “France Médias Monde” media holding, which includes “Radio France Internationale” and “France 24” have joined the campaign. These agencies chose not to publish images from Isis propaganda documents, including names and photographs of terrorists.
Several other agencies announced that they’ll decide in accordance with the situation.
