Member of Daredevils of Sasun group kept in ‘inhumane conditions’, the lawyer claims
Inessa Petrosyan, the lawyer of Daredevils of Sasun group member Aram Manukyan, who is currently treated in the hospital for inmates, has called on the relative state bodies to consider moving his client to another hospital due to inhumane and humiliating conditions in the hospital for inmates.
The lawyer has addressed the RA Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan, RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, Head of the Penitentiary Service of the RA Ministry of Justice Arthur Osikyan, Head of the Investigative Department of the RA National Security Service Michael Hambardzumyan.
To remind, Aram Manukyan was injured during the shootout in the patrol police regiment on July 27 and transferred to Erebuni Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. The court sufficed the decision to use detention for two months as a pretrial measure against him. Later Manukyan was moved to the hospital for inmates.
Aram Manukyan is charged under Part 3 of Article 219 of the RA Criminal Code (Occupation of buildings, facilities, means of transportation or communication by an organized group) and Part 3 of the Article 235 (Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices by an organized group).
The crimes are punished with imprisonment for the term of 6 to 12 and 3 to 8 years respectively.
