Prosecutor General’s Office sends reports on Sari Tagh events to RA SIS
The Office of the RA Prosecutor General has sent reports on the events of Sari Tagh neighbourhood to the Special Investigative Service for material preparation, Prosecutor General’s office informs.
“On the initiative of the RA Prosecutor General, the reports containing information on illegitimate actions of the police to disperse the crowd gathered at Khorenatsi Str. and Sari Tagh neighbourhood on the night of July 29-30, as well as violence applied by unidentified persons against the protestors, dragging civilians not participating in the protest into their actions aimed at dispersing the crowd, have been sent to the RA Special Investigative Service for preparing materials and criminally and legally assessing the activities of involved parties”.
To remind, the RA Ombudsman’s staff has informed that materials, containing information about the violence subjected on peaceful protestors by the police officers on the night of July 29-30 at Khorenatsi Str. and Sari Tagh neighbourhood, as well as damage caused to Sari Tagh residents, have been sent to the RA Prosecutor General for resolving the issue through criminal prosecution.
Earlier, the office of the Prosecutor General informed that a criminal case has been launched to investիgate the aforementioned brutality against the journalists on the basis of Article 164 of the Criminal Code (impeding the lawful professional activities of journalists). The materials of the criminal cases have been delivered to the Special Investigation Service.
