Special Investigation Service launches criminal proceedings over the seizure of the police regiment
Armenia’s Special Investigation Service (SIS) has launched criminal proceedings over the seizure of the RA Police Patrol-Guard Service Regiment under Articles 219 and 235 of the RA Criminal Code, press department of the SIS reports in a released statement.
To remind, the criminal case was first initiated by the Investigative Department at the National Security Service, which later was transferred to the SIS, according to the Prosecutor General’s instruction.
According to the decision of the Head of the Special Investigation Service, an investigative group is formed to deal with the preliminary investigation, which is underway.
Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
