President Sargsyan sends message to Armenian participants of the 31st Olympic Games
President Serzh Sargsyan sent a message to the members of the Armenian delegation who have departed for Brazil to participate at the 31st Olympic Games.
According to the press and public relations department of the president’s administration, the message reads:
“Dear Olympians,
You have received an excellent opportunity to defend the sport honor of our country at the 31st Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro which will commence on August 5.
Big sport demands work, discipline, and trust in one’s own abilities. Olympic Games unite strong and courageous people. These qualities have already won you the right to represent our country at the world’s main sporting event. It is a great honor by itself; you need to be successful at the Olympic arena and to valiantly represent Armenia to the Armenian nation and sport fans all over the world.
We trust in the Armenian delegation comprising 33 sportsmen which is the largest delegation since Armenia regained independence. You can and must to further develop existing achievements and stand at the Olympian pedestal. You have proved your great class on many occasions and possess necessary skills, general training, essential experience, and great willpower.
We hope that you will meet our expectations at the Olympic Games in Brazil, and thanks to your victories the Armenian tricolor will be raised.
I wish you success and victorious return to Fatherland.”
