Member of “Daredevils of Sassoun”, Ashot Petrosyan goes on hunger strike, his lawyer says
Ashot Petrosyan, a member of “Daredevils of Sassoun” group, who is currently in the hospital for inmates has gone on a hunger strike and refuses medical treatment,” Petrosyan’s lawyer, Arayik Papikyan told Panorama.am.
“He requests a meeting with, Tigran Mansuryan and Robert Amirkhanyan. If the meeting takes place, with the permission of Ashot Petrosyan, either them or us will announce about it,” the lawyer said.
To remind, Ashot Petrosyan has been charged with Part 3 of Article 219 of the RA Criminal Code (Occupation of buildings, facilities, means of transportation or communication by an organized group) and
Part 3 of the Article 235 (Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices by an organized group). The crimes are punished with imprisonment for the term of 6 to 12 and 3 to 8 years respectively.
Arayik Papikyan also informed that the charges pressed against Artur Sargsyan who provided the group members with food, has changed. He’s now accused of supporting “Daredevils of Sassoun”.
To remind, Arthur Petrosyan, as other members of “Daredevils of Sassoun” was charged with Part 3 of the Article 218 (taking hostages) and Part 3 of the Article 235 (Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) of the RA Criminal Code.
