Surenyan forecasts high temperature during coming 5 days
In the coming 5 days, Armenia will remain in the zone of southern warm air currents.
“The temperature has risen significantly during the past few days. Yesterday +36 C was registered in the capital city of Yerevan. The temperature will rise today with 1-2 degrees reaching +37 C. This temperature will remain until August 9. The temperature will continue to rise on August 10 as well, reaching +38 C,” Deputy Head of the Hydromet Service of the Minister of Emergency Situations, Gagik Surenyan said.
According to him, despite the high temperature, probability of short thunderstorms during late evening and midnight will continue to prevail in northern provinces, Shirak, Lori, Aragatsotn and Gegharkunik. Starting from August 10, precipitation will stop throughout the whole country.
“The monthly average temperature was normal in July, yet the amount of rainfall exceeded 1.5-2 times. It is forecasted that the temperature in August will be 1 degree higher than usual, and the amount of precipitation will be normal,” Surenyan said.
