Iran-Azerbaijan bilateral agreements after Baku meeting
On August 8, a trilateral meeting http://president.ir/en/ between presidents of Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia took place in Baku. Before that, bilateral meetings were held, during which the parties discussed wide range of issues of bilateral and trilateral interests.
Iranian and Azerbaijani presidents discussed issues related to the legal status of the Caspian Sea, the creation of North-South transportation corridor, cooperation in the fields of energy and transportation and medicine.
The Iranian president said that under the agreement reached, 10 thousand cars will be produced in Azerbaijan, satisfying the needs of Azerbaijan, as well as the neighbouring countries.
Speaking about the North-South transition corridor, President Rouhani noted that for the implementation of the project, both Azerbaijan and Iran should make 50% investment each.
Concerning NK conflict, Iranian president said that the conflitct should be resolved through peaceful means only. According to Rouhani, in case of necessity, Iran will do its best to contribute to the resolution of the conflict.
Considering the fact that Iran has problems connected with territorial integrity, Rouhani stated that there should be no changes in the borders and the territorial integrity of the countries in the region, including Azerbaijan.
During Rouhani-Putin-Aliyev meeting, the presidents made their statements and agreed to hold their next meeting in Tehran.
