Serzh Sargsyan: It’s important to implement agreements reached
Joining the Eurasian Economic Union had a positive impact on the economy of Armenia, President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin stated during the meeting with President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.
“I’m pleased to note and congratulate you, as looking through the last year’s data I noticed that after joining the EEU the GDP of Armenia increased by 10%. I hope this trend will be maintained,” Vladimir Putin said.
He noted that, Armenia and Russia are consistently developing their relations, cooperating in the international arena and within the CIS.
In his turn, Serzh Sargsyan noted that during the first half of 2016, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 12%, while exports to Russia reached 90%.
Speaking about bilateral relations, Serzh Sargsyan underlined that there are no serious problems between Russia and Armenia, and all issues are resolved promptly.
The RA president thanked for the serious efforts of Russia aimed at resolving Karabakh conflict through negotiations. “It’s important that the agreements reached are implemented. We’re ready for it.”
