Criminal proceedings launched over obstruction of journalists’ professional legal actions
RA Special Investigation Service informs it continues the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated under the features of part 1 of Article 308 on the incident of official powers exceeded by the officials, part 2 of Article 309 (exceeding the official powers coupled with apparent use of force) and Article 164 (prevented journalists’ professional legal actions) of the RA Criminal Code.
According to the release, in the scope of taken measures, a search has been declared for citizens A. T and F. S. over apparently obstructing the journalists’ professional legal actions during the incidents in Sari Tagh district of Yerevan on the night of July 29.
The Special Investigation Service reminds that a criminal proceeding is launched against 6 citizens in the scope of the instituted criminal case.
The statement reads that the RA Special Investigation Service and law enforcement bodies cooperate to continue taking investigative and judicial, as well as all possible operative-search measures to find out incident circumstances, to identify and find people committed the crime.
Meanwhile, the Investigation Service calls on citizens who witnessed, participated suffered in the incidents of Sari Tagh district to cooperate with investigative bodies to ensure the objectivity, completeness and objectivity of the preliminary investigation, adding extra information will be regularly given concerning the further process and new developments of the preliminary investigation.
Note: The suspected charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
