Memorial dedicated to fallen heroes of Gyumri unveiled in Mush district
A memorial dedicated to the seven heroes of Gyumri, who fell during the April War has been unveiled near the memorial to Four Day War hero, Meruzhan Stepanyan, who was awarded with the Order of the Combat Cross of the First Degree.
It has a shape of a tree with the names of the heroes written on the branches.
According to the official site of Shirak province administration, administrator Hovsep Simonyan, Gyumri mayor, Samvel Balasanyan, priests, as well as family members of the heroes attended the opening ceremony.
The honour of unveiling the memorial was given to Meruzhan Stepanyan’s father.
“By unveiling this memorial, once again we immortalize the memory of our heroes, who fell protecting their motherland. Time passes, yet our wounds don’t heal. The consequences of the loss become more painful. Eternal glory and honour to all our heroes,” Shirak province administrator said in his speech.
