Armenian doctors of France examined more than 500 children in Syunik province
Members of the Union of Armenian Doctors of France (UMAF) visit Armenia twice every year. Their first visit takes place in May, when they exchange experience with doctors of the community schools conveying their methods of children’s eyes examination.
Their second visit takes place in August, when the Armenian doctors of France bring optical lenses and ophthalmic equipment to check the eyesight of the children. If need be, they also prepare and present the children with glasses.
This year UMAF doctors visited many villages of Syunik province and the city of Sisian.
“It’s already 13 years that we’ve been visiting Armenia and contributing to the protection of the health of our children. The project is implemented in the villages, as here they need the doctors and the equipment more. With the support of ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, we’ve arrived in Armenia, a group of eight doctors transporting large amount of equipment. We thought that there would be people in Armenia who would want to support us, thus we applied to ACBA, with whom we’ve been cooperating for already 20 years and who agreed to support us in this initiative,” Head of the group of the Armenian doctors of France, Levon Artinian noted.
