After April incidents no serious steps taken in the Karabakh settlement, Alexander Iskandaryan says
After the military operations occurred in early April Minsk Group Co-chairmen activated their work to certain extent, however, overall, no noticeable steps were taken in the Karabakh settlement process, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan told reporters at a press conference today in Yerevan
According to the speaker’s words, today the Co-chairmen are continuing their efforts, to stop firing on the frontline, especially the Russian side.
“The situation appears to stay stable today as compared to the April days,” the political scientist said, suggesting that the conflict escalation is not ruled out, since political tools are not available to stop the negative developments.
To Iskandaryan, much depends on the oil prices and the situation in Azerbaijan, adding that the relatively stable state of affairs will maintain for a while, yet the question how long remains open.
