Matenadaran director Hrachya Tamrazyan dies at 63
Hrachya Tamrazyan, Director of the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran) died today at 63. As Panorama.am learnt from Matendaran, Tamrazyan has long suffered from a disease.
Tamrazyan, Doctor of Philological Science, is an author of numerous monographs and scientific articles in the medieval science. Literary activity of an Armenian poet, mystical philosopher and theologian Gregory of Narek has been in the focus of if his primary research interests.
Tamrazyan is the holder of the second-class Medal of Services to the Motherland and numerous other awards.
