Budo Japanese martial arts festival to be held in Yerevan
Armenia’s Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs organizes Budo Japanese martial arts festival in collaboration with Japanese Embassy to Armenia which is to be held in Yerevan on September11, Japan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Eiji Taguchi told a press conference today.
Along with the Ambassador, the press conference was attended by the President of Japan Federation of Shinjuku Kendo Mizumori Macumura, the President of the Armenian National Karate Federation Grigor Mikhayelyan, deputy head of Armenian Judo Federation Davot Khitaryan and others.
On the final day of the festival about 200 students of Armenia’s Judo, Aikido, Aikikai and Budoshin federations will demonstrate their skills and perform exhibition at Dinamo Sport-Complex in Yerevan. Apart form that, Japanese Kendo sanseis will conduct two-day seminars in Yerevan and Vanadzor.
To remind, the agreement about conducting Budo Japanese martial arts festival in Yerevan was reached between Armenia’s Sport Minister Gabriel Ghazaryan and Japan Ambassador Eiji Taguchi in May during a meeting held in the ministry.
