Armenia participates in the 66th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe
The 66th session of the WHO (World Health organization) Regional Committee for Europe kicked off in Copenhagen, Denmark from 12–15 September, the Ministry of Healthcare reported, adding Armenia is represented by Director of the National AIDS Center Samvel Grigoryan.
The event brought together 53 Member States of the WHO (World Health organization) European Region, partner organizations and civil society.
According to the source, the overarching theme is the central role of health in “leaving no one behind” as countries embark on implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
During the session some health problems included in the Agenda of Sustainable Development and process of implementing policy of Health 2020, as well as directions of further measures within the framework of the policy.
The session will address the action plan of the fighting and prevention non-communicable diseases, AIDS and viral hepatitis, will organize ministerial meetings on urgent health issues.
Strategy and action plan on the health of migrants and refugees in the WHO European Region, as well as a plan of action on sexual and reproductive health will be developed within the framework of session.
