Armenia received a Grand Prize at Moscow International Book Fair
Armenia presented its pavilion at the 29th Moscow International Book Fair, featuring children's, educational and translations editions published over the last two years in the country. Publishers and authors participated in the event, Eduard Militonyan, Head of Union of Writers of Armenia told Panorama.am.
To note, over 500 publishers from Russia and 37 countries came together at the Russian Main Exhibition Complex to present the best examples of fiction, children's, educational, and popular science literature. This year, there were 800 events held at ten thematic platforms, including meetings with well-known authors, actors and cultural figures, presentation of new editions, literary contests, concerts and theatrical presentations.
To Militonyan’s words, in the scope of the fair book presentations, meetings with foreign publishers were held; new arrangements among publishers and authors were reached.
He next informed that 8 books presented by the Armenian pavilion participated in different nomination, one of them won CIS "Art of the Book" competition award.
“The History of Armenia” of Movses Khorenatsi illustrated by artist Van Khachatur received a Grand Prize. That is a notable occasion,” stressed Militonyan.
