“The Last Inhabitant” film about Karabakh to be released in two months
Jivan Avetisyan’s “The Last Inhabitant” will be released on November 17 and screened in Yerevan cinemas, the film Facebook account reported in a post.
To note, the film “The Last Inhabitant” is the second work of director Jivan Avetiyan devoted to Artsakh, after “Tevanik”. Born in Artsakh Avetisyan, grew up and witnessed all the hardships his family members and villagers suffered during the Karabakh conflict and the forced deportations of the Armenian civilian population. Avetisyan produced number of documentaries and short films to bring world attention to his hometown in order to showcase Karabakh and put Karabakh on the map in the world of cinema.
“The Last Inhabitant carries a strong message about the national identity. The film tells that even the war is unable to disrupt the innermost values and advocates for peace.
Produced by the collaborative efforts of five states she cast features not only talented Armenian actors, representing the independence generations but also foreign actors from Iran, US, Russia, Greece and Lithuania
The Last Inhabitant” is about the only inhabitant that remained in an Armenian village besieged during the1988-1989 Armenian-Azerbaijani tensions. It features how the war and forced deportations affected human lives on the basis of Tsovinar Khachatryan’s “Gyurjevan’s Last Inhabitant” story.
Jivan Avetisyan’s “The Last Inhabitant” was premiered within the framework of “Armenian Panorama” program of the 13th Golden Apricot Festival in Armenia.
