National Assembly adopted amendments to the Law on Government Structure in the first reading
Armenia's National Assembly passed through the first reading amendments to Law on Government Structure of the Republic of Armenia with 77 votes in favor, 9 abstained and 2 opposed votes.
Speaker of the Parliament Galust Sahakyan informed that proposals by opposition forces made to the draft law would be considered before the second reading.
According to the proposed draft, the Armenian Ministry of Urban Development will be transformed into an adjunct body to the Government.
Other amendments envisaged by the draft relates to the names of three ministries.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Energy and Natural resources is renamed the Ministry of Energy infrastructure and Natural resources. The Ministry of Economy is renamed the Economic Development and Investment Ministry, while the Ministry of Transport and Communication is renamed the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies.
