Iskander is also political tool for Armenia, political scientist says
The Iskander [ballistic missile system] doesn’t only a possess a military potential, but it’s also a political tool for Armenia, political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan said during a press conference speaking about the weapons demonstrated during the military parade marking the 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence.
“It is also binding for Armenia to have more serious ambitions in the framework of its foreign policy,” he said.
According to Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan, the demonstration of modern military equipment makes Armenia look more powerful. Referring to the speech http://mfa.am/en/speeches/item/2016/09/24/unga71/ of the Armenian Foreign Minister at the UN, the political scientist said that the Armenian side has toughened its assessments and positions.
