Members of “DiNGO Team” NGO that is specialized in protection of stray animals, staged a protest in front of the government building, against what they called “torturing of stray animals” by Unigraph X LLC  - an organization responsible for the sterilization and euthanasia of stray animals.

“Our primary demand is to stop state funding for Unigraph X, which is explicitly annihilating and torturing animals” one of the NGO representatives Gohar Manushyan told reporters.

To her words, they studied some released stray animals and it turned out they were pregnant – another evidence the animals had never been sterilized.

“Animals’ bellies are sawed open without anesthesia and surgical castration done by improper threads, no application of sterile devices, a kingdom of infectious hospitals,” Manushakyan described the organization’s work.

Most of the gathered protesters agreed that the problem of stray animals in Armenia still remains open and the matter is addressed by structures with no knowledge about the issue.

“We are trying to raise the matter in front of the new Prime Minister, we have submitted a legislative package to regulate the sphere,” she said.
