Armenia wins two gold medals at World Junior Chess Championship
World Junior Chess Championship under-14, 1-6, and -18 concluded. As the Chess Federation of Armenia reports, Armenia’s representative Hayk Martirosyan won gold medal in the tournament under-16. Martirosyan won 7 games in the starting consecutive 7 rounds and played draw in 4 games in the final rounds of the tournament, which secured gold medal for him.
Another representative of Armenia, Manuel Petrosyan, who participated in the tournament under-18 received 9 points out of the maximum of11 and was declared world champion.
As the Chess Federation details, Armenia was the only state that secured two gold medals at the tournament.
