4th Khachaturian International Festival to open in Yerevan
The 4th Khachaturian International Festival will open on October 6 at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall with “Khachaturian Meets Jazz” concert program.
As the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia reports, Jazz arrangements by Khachaturian as well as the world premier DeBour Canfield: Concerto after Aram Khachaturian for Saxopohone and Orchestra will be performed during the concert.
The work is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. Armenian State Jazz Band and State Youth Orchestra of Armenia will perform during the concert. Vahagn Hayrapetyan (piano), Hayrapet Arakelyan (saxophone), Armen Hyusnunts (saxophone) will act as soloists. Sergey Smbatyan and Armen Hyusnunts will conduct the concert.
