Nazarbayev cancels visits to Armenia, Azerbaijan for health reasons
The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will not be able to visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan on October 12-14 due to a cold-related disease, presidential spokesman Aidos Ukibai said on Wednesday, TASS agency reported.
The president’s working schedule has been changed, the spokesman said in a statement on Facebook page. "Until the end of this week the participation of the head of state in international events is not planned."
To note, it was reported earlier that Nazarbayev planned to pay an official visit to Armenia and also attend a session of the CSTO’s council at the level of heads of state on October 14. On Wednesday, Nazarbayev was scheduled to arrive in Azerbaijan on an official visit.
The session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Yerevan will be attended by Kazakhstan’s prime minister, the spokesman said.
As the statement by Aidos Ukibai reads the president is now "undergoing a planned treatment due to a cold-related disease, in general his health is not of concern."
